Hi I'm Daniel here : ) I am going to blog about last week's lesson. Last week's lesson was interesting. I learned that the Bible is God's way of telling us what He wants to say. The Bible was written thousands of years ago, and we cannot go around telling everybody that the Bible is true without supporting our statement.
Some of the evidence, some scriptures were found in caves near the dead sea that were preserved for a very long time. For those who have learned about probablity: Science considers any probability higher than1 in 10 to the 50th power impossible yet out of 5000 predictions in the Bible concerning the future, 2000 were fufilled and the probablity of that? 1 in 10 to the 200th power!
This shows us that we must wait and see before disbelieving. The scripture is also an extremely reliable source and even historians that are non-believers use it. Isn't it blatant enough that a normal person couldn't have wrote it? It must either have been inspired or written by someone special, in this case, it was inspired, as we all know that God didn't write the scriptures, man did, but it was He who inspired it. Another point, could 40 writers in 3 different continents speaking 3 different languages 1500 years ago write about the same message? Certainly not! There must definitely be someone behind it, right?
So, three points: To see how perfect and right the Bible is, you must experience the Bible to know just how perfect and right it is. See whether it is the best solution. (It will be!)
Not sure that the Bible is full of wisdom, you must trust the Bible's reliability to experience its wisdom. Read the Bible, focus on one piece of wisdom and trust that what you read is God's reliable word.
Not sure whether it is reliable, read It and do something which has a promise attached to it. Watch God do what He promised.
So I learned that the Blble can be trusted to provide the only standard for right and wrong.
THE POINT: The Bible provides the only true standard for right and wrong.
So if your friends ask you how do you know and prove that the Bible is true, you tell them what I blogged and you can add some more to it.
PS: Happy Chinese New Year : ) See you all on Sunday : )
