Woah, I finally managed to figure out to post something on the youth blog. Having come back from the mission trip in Isaan, one of the biggest take-aways that I have had is to understand the purpose and importance of fellowship. We all know that we are members of God's family. The Bible continually refers to God as our Father and us as His children and even He refers to the church as His bride. Christianity is relational and faith without love lends no meaning to what we do for God.
Spending 10 days over in Thailand with the people there, with those who came from LKBC, Redeemer Baptist, Covenant Community Baptist and Grace Baptist; the work done there in Isaan was made so much more powerful and real to me due to the relationships created, bonds developed and time spent fellowshipping with one another. To be honest, I spent very little time actually ministering to the Thai kids in the schools and the strangers that we met on the streets of Udon Thani. However, as I watched individuals like Spencer, Esther and Weiling minister with their actions and words, there was joy in my heart as I saw my fellow brothers and sisters pleasing the Lord with their faith and service.
Though we are back in Singapore, I know that fellowship never ends. I am thankful that I have been gifted with a greater appreciation for why we as Christians were never meant to soldier on in this World alone but together with each other, serving our God, our lord as a body of Christ. I have been touched in understanding that every single person who comes to church is precious to God's eyes and if God who is all powerful and all mighty can love someone regardless of who he or she is, what more us right? So to conclude, I pray for God's guidance that even as He blesses us with the joy derived from fellowshipping with each other, may we also be sensitive to respond to anyone who may feel left out or alone and invite them to share in our relationships. Amen.
